History<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The new Lincolnville Community Library opened on February 1, 2014, in a renovated one-room schoolhouse built originally in 1849. The opening date was just fifteen months after nearly 200 people gathered to grab a long rope and help pull the shell of the old building, owned by the Lincolnville Historical Society, across Main Street to a formerly vacant lot.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Jackie Young Watts Open-air Museum<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Lincolnville Historical Society’s open-air museum was built in the summer of 2013 to display historical items such as fishing boats, ice cutting tools, lime industry artifacts, and large agricultural implements that depict the life of Lincolnville residents in the 19th and early 20th centuries. It is open for viewing in the spring, summer and fall.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
